Basically the way it happened is if you owe the gov't money then yeah the tax men will come for you. But they owed me money so they were in no hurry for me to collect it.

But I have made my decision. Kinda.

DX 06 mentioned driving, now I don't want a car, but I sure as hell would love to get myself a motorcycle. And I have more than enough for a down payment.

The other thing I'm considering is a bit more responsible. I dislike my program in school, and I would like to take something else instead but that costs money right?

Not in Finland. In Finland I can go to school for 10 years and not pay a dime. Its compensated for everyone.

So yeah, its either buy a motorcycle or move to Finland an go to school for free.

Well, there are a several universities in Finland that have english programs. Also, I wouldn't move anywhere without at least getting a grasp on the language. And the best part, it so is covered for foreign students you just have to live there.

There was a bit in the newspaper the other day where it said that Finland si trying to change that law because there are quite a few people already who go over there apparently. But, the article said that they wouldn't be able to cahange that rule until at least 2010. It also said that if you get in between now and then you can still stay afterwards, kinda like a grandfather clause.

So yeah, its a viable option. Still considering it though.

I'm not sure if I follow you on the college/uni combo thing.

I've just been here or 5 years now, and at about $10,000 per year it gets expensive.

If I chose to finish to my phD, I'll hit $100,000 easil, and student loans don't pay as much for graduate school.
