What does competition have to do with anything? If you mean that in thinking if they had some it would stop them from doing gimmicks then that doesn't make any sense as it never stopped them before. They're doing way less gimmicks now than they did when they did have competition.

I liked the Army Tank with Ferrari Engine line. Anyway this doesn't look that promising to me.
Same, I loved him on NXT and thought he was so underrated. He played that character of not giving a shit about anything or anyone and doing what he wanted to do absolutely perfectly.

I'm happy to see some Husky Harris fans. At first I didn't like him but he grew on me on NXT. He's got that badass and mean look so that always appeals to me. For everyone thats calling him fatass, he dropped a decent amount of weight which is why WWE wants to put him on the main roster.

Agreed. I really started liking him throughout that season of NXT, probably my favorite other than McGillicutty, and I guess Kaval, though I never expected him to go anywhere in WWE, so I don't really include him.

Glad to finally see some decent opinions in this thread. I originally wasn't gonna post, but now I will.

Husky Harris was one of NXT Season 2's shining lights for me. "The Army Tank with the Ferrari Engine" was a great description of him, combined with the fact he tended to act however he wanted.

This new gimmick is just a step back.

Totally agree. He's got the "Who cares?" attitude down, and I don't remember him being sloppy on the mic. He's got enough to be at least a solid mid-carder and wouldn't need much characterisation.

If there's something WWE needs among it roster its a FAST big guy since Show, Taker and Kane can't quite move like they used to. Husky could have a great rival in Brodus Clay (although Brodus would need a gimmick changed, the Funkasauras novelty has already worn off).

Could be a heat monster.

Think about it, those mad Christian guys who lurk around town centres shouting propaganda shit, everybody hates those guys.

Well, just speaking as a Christian here: Not to happy with the Christian Heel. Been over done in media..like almost every Christian you see is a hypocrite and a bad guy. And, I'm sure I won't be too happy with this either.

^It could be offensive, but that's the point. It'll draw heat.

With that being said, that heat will be temporary. All religious gimmicks end up going South (Devon Dudley comes to mind). Personally, not a fan of the ridiculous gimmicks, and for the most part, only the realistic wrestlers, aka wrestlers who play realistic sports competitors with egos, tend to get over. Seems like a waste of time.

Now, I'm all for gimmicks. It's harder to pull them off these days, but it's still needed.

I agree that gimmicks, but minimal gimmicks are best. Breaking out a religious zealot character is over the top but having a religious character who is still a wrestler at heart, not a over the top caricature, is a better approach. People seem to be responding to realistic gimmicks (me being one of these), so I'm all for minimizing ridiculous gimmicks.

I've got one word for you...SANTINO
Talk about you're OVER THE TOP...that is what he is.

And, right now, he's hot

BTW: I agree with you about no OVER THE TOP RELIGOUS ZEALOT ROUTINE

I love Santino, and he's definitely over. However, the guy has a ton of charisma and not many have that trait to really get themselves over (Husky Harris probs isn't one of those who have it haha). And on top of that, Santino will probably never exceed the mid-card, and once he loses that US belt, he's back to jokes/backstage segments. I just don't think over the top gimmicks are way to go haha
