Anyone in the northeast US bracing for this? It's supposed to hit somewhere between NJ and Boston either Monday night or Tuesday.

Some people will thumb their noses when they realize it's a Cat 1, but the pressure is so low, the storm surge is expected to be 11 feet, which would be devastating to the NY area. And because of it's humongous geographical size, hurricane force winds are being reported as far as 175 miles from the center, which is quite honestly fucking insane considering the storm is only moving 15 MPH.

The cloud cover from the storm is already over Montreal and the storm is still off the coast of North Carolina. The weather channel describes Sandy as "looking the be possibly the most destructive storm in modern history".

Crazy shit. I won't be affected by it where I live, but I know a few members on here will. Hope it ends up not being so bad.

I'm like right on the border of Mass so I'm waiting to see what the storm brings, It's crazy though at this exact same day last year the North East was hit with an early winter Blizzard and it basically shut towns down for weeks, I know here in my town we had lost power for two weeks then due to trees falling and taking out power lines. Hoping this isn't nearly as bad.

I love on the East Coast of Florida, so I got some nice breezes and light rain, but that's all. Glad I'm not in the area up North where it'll really take its toll.

Hopefully every manages to stay safe and isn't hit that hard by it. It looks like a monster from the satellite imaging and it has already claimed dozens of lives so hopefully it slows down and weakens before it hits the coast.

I have a few friends in New York and in Conneticut(sp). Hoping everybody is alright after it all. A couple places in New Jersey are already flooded.

Hopefully the storm makes an evacuated building fall on Mayor Bloomberg's office with him inside

Battery Park is completely flooded, the World Trade Center site looks like Niagara Falls and the NYSE has 3 feet of water of the floor. Shit is out of fucking control over there.
