– Hulk Hogan has renewed his contract with TNA Wrestling, the Pro Wrestling Torch has confirmed. Specifics of the agreement were not disclosed, though company officials wanted the deal finalized prior to his scheduled match at Bound for Glory.
Was somewhat expecting him to be done with TNA after this so somewhat surprised by this. Hogan being there hasn't really much of a difference in anything.

I've seen people blowing up about this all over the internet and I just don't get it.

TNA was awful long before Hogan and will be awful long after him when he eventually leaves. So either way, who cares?

Hopefully it's a just a deal that runs a couple of months so they can do a storyline where he loses control of TNA back over to Dixie, however I don't think that will be the case.

He seems happy to be there, so him renewing him deal with TNA hasn't shocked me.

I dont think Hogan has anything to do with why TNA is so bad, can you imagine if he came back to WWE it would be huge but yet him in TNA just means nothing. They need use him correctly/not in the ring.

Hogan's role needs to be reworked if he's going to be staying around. He def has no buisness wrestling and the amount of TV time he gets needs to be reduced.

Hogan in an authority role suits him where he is at in his career. TNA has to do something media wise that would create such a buzz new fans will want to tune in. Hogan hasn't provided that and even though he probably is capable of it, I just don't see it happening. I don't mind him resigning as I don't see him wrestling very much after BFG anyways.

Yeah, shifting him to an ambassador role where he helps promote the company off-camera (something they should have done with him in the first place) is a much smarter move. I think his TV time needs to be cut down drastically.

The thing with that is i've seen it reported loads of times that he's appearing on different talk shows or whatever and never ever mentions TNA. It just seems like he only mentions TNA when he's going on a show specifically to talk about them, when in all reality he should be using whatever opportunity he is given to promote them.

I was flipping channels the other day and I came across Hogan promoting his micro wrestling I think. He was introduced as a former wrestler and I'm like he's wrestling Sting in two weeks. I continue to watch as Hogan does a sit-down interview. Nothing about TNA comes up even with BFG right around the corner. This lasted for about 5 minutes before I just gave up on it. It was flat out stupid. Nobody seemed to have any clue of what was what.

The Immortal" Hulk Hogan will battle "The Icon" Sting in a No Disqualification fight for power and survival in Impact Wrestling at Bound for Glory.

It was revealed at the end of this week's episode of Impact Wrestling episode that if Sting wins, Hogan hands over control of TNA to Sting and Dixie Carter.
Didn't see iMPACT so not sure how accurate this is as it didn't say on the BFG website. I'm guessing Hogan loses, starts a face turn and then ends up trying to eliminate Immortal?

-- Though he may no longer actively compete, Hulk Hogan still commands among the highest salaries in the professional wrestling industry.

While discussing TNA's decision to renew their contract with Hogan on the October 5 episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer stated that the organization pays the wrestling legend $35,000 per television appearance—potentially totaling over $2 million per year.

TNA regularly discloses financial information to Meltzer, hence his knowledge of Hogan's salary.
That's insane what he's getting, now it makes sense why he gets shitload of TV time every week...

I'm really interested in seeing how much he made under his WWE deal (recent years, not in his heyday) - because you would think he wasn't making what he is now and that would be the reason he decided to sign with TNA. That then brings up the question why TNA are paying Hogan that amount when the biggest company in the world wouldn't? I'm sure Hogan brings TNA in money, but as Dale said to me when I brought that up; it's probably no where near the amount he gets paid.

I find it weird that I'm surprised at wrestling salaries when I look at other professional sports.

The saddest thing about this is that if the average knockout gets paid 300 per appearance, that's .8% of what Hogan makes.

His appearances were few and far between so he probably got about that amount just not on a weekly basis TNA seems to be paying him. Vince finally just probably thought to himself that he wasn't worth the price anymore and didn't need him that bad for exposure. In theory TNA having Hogan should be big however as KIF brought up outside looking in he gets looked at as a former wrestler and doesn't even promote TNA during the outside TNA stuff he does which defeats the purpose of why they even brought him in the company in the first place. So they are just throwing away cash for someone who isn't doing nothing for them. Damn shame he can make in two-three appearances that some of them in TNA probably can't make in a year.
