Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will appear on next week's WWE Smackdown, according to WrestlingObserver.com. WWE sent a film crew to Johnson's home and taped a promo that will air on Friday's show.

:Jumpy: ..... that is if it's true. I don't believe anything about Dwayne Johnson and wrestling unless I see it.

pretty much. but still, it's The Rock (not Dwayne Johnson) on a wrestling show. that's huge, even though he's not there in person. whatever he says still would be great.

umaga is a hilarious name because it really means morning.

So wait...this is going to be a taped segment...on an already taped show?

Wow, how lame!

10th Anniversary should be live so it can't be spoiled.

Who cares about Dwayne anymore...
Lmao.. um, me? He has more talent than anyone on the fucking WWE roster still.

I will cry like a little girl when he comes on TV =(. For a second I thought he was actually appearing, in that case I would fly down to the fucking taped showing of SD, still fucking amazing though, can't wait.

On that note, if this is true and WWE actually announced that he was going to appear on SD, it would probably draw higher ratings than Raw.

But why? I mean, he's a movie star now, who's not even going to turn up at the actual event that made him a superstar.

That's why I don't care.

The Rock should portray the Mel Gibson South Park character. Like he would either play the Scorpion King or Beck or someone from his other movies when he returns to Raw or SD. That would kickass yet be completely gay.

Offtopic. That movie he made with Seann William Scott was so weird yet so good. Southland Tales I think.

Here's a wild thought. With the rumored amount of money that they throw at Floyd Mayweather and Kanye West, why don't they offer him that money for say, a 4 month segment instead? if the money offered is as much as filming, he gets a slightly less stressful schedule (no house shows of course) and is given a good storyline to work with, do you think he'll bite?

It's called the Rundown here in North America....I love that movie....A Little Thunder, a Little Lightning.

that would be exciting for any wrestling fan, but it won't have that big publicity as the two guys you mentioned. that would be amazing to see, but there's some problems for both sides.

-The Rock is trying to get as far away from wrestling as he can. That's why he's Dwayne Johnson now. So him returning to wrestling would just people remember "Oh yeah, he used to be a wrestler." The Rock might make some good money, sure. but he probably doesn't want to be typecast in that role of wrestler again by the mainstream media, because he's been doing extremely well making kids movies.

-It wouldn't have that big mainstream attention as say a Kanye West, Mayweather, or Shaq would. It would get the internet riled up, but you wouldn't be seeing the Rock's return on ESPN, TMZ, or The Soup. They'd want to get someone that's a huge media star, not a wrestling legend.

-What's there for the Rock to do? He probably wouldn't be booked to lose and be against a main eventer, so booking him wouldn't get anyone a rub. They'll just get the rights to say "I did - to the Rock."
