- With John Cena capturing the World Heavyweight Championship from Alberto Del Rio at Hell in Cell, it will once again be portrayed as equal to the WWE Championship. According to F4WOnline.com today, Cena and Randy Orton are expected to remain as champions through at least Elimination Chamber, and will be portrayed as equals.
Orton I can definitley see holding all the way to Mania as I still expect Bryan to win the title then. I can see Cena holding it up to Mania too in principal, but I figure they would want him in a major matchup and I just don't can't think up any high profile scenario with the WHC on the line.

I would really like to see Cena hold it for a while for just that reason. Cena could still push guys while holding the WHC. And I think it could lead up to something big. Maybe Taker vs Cena for the WHC at WM?

Expect both to have them at Mania maybe not having held the entire time. I expect one of them to go to Punks reign not beat it but close.

Cena vs Triple H for the world title may be possible. Cena vs the authority and Nikki and Steoh getting a bit physical isn't something i would overlook. Trips loves that freaking belt as a wrestler and we know Hunter will work mania. I don't see why Vince couldn't be in Cenas corner or something

The World title is just like a play thing to Cena, and for WWE they are doing it to try and refresh him and hope that it will rub off on the title too. Out of the two I think he is more likely to drop it before the granddaddy as he may have bigger fish to fry (can't believe I just used a dated term from an 80s Batman film!).

If you want to establish that belt and another superstar, you have Cena defend it in a co-main event at Mania... perhaps to Sandow after a few months of Sandow getting extremely close and earning the shot one last time in a stipulation match vs. another contender (like a Del Rio). Have Sandow go into Mania and win clean over Cena for that belt as one of the featured main events? ...title regains status, Sandow earns a place in the main event scene.

It does feel like the champions never changed for 10 years. WWE need to start showing they care for the future.

10 years ago at Mania 20, the champs after that are well.....dead. So I guess you CAN say the champions are different.

I can only guess that they'll carry those belts until a new "monster" is introduced, and then after one of them drops their belt to said monster, get it back the following week.

Orton is heel, what monster is supposed to dethrone him? Doomsday doesn't dethrone Zod, it's Zod or Doomsday going after Superman, that's the recipe that works. This whole Daniel Bryan storyline just proves that the old Flair booking doesn't work, face chasing heel isn't what an audience wants, it's the good guy getting challenged by the bad guy that works.

I know this is sting scenario 10000000.

I just thought about the fact Sting would be perfect for Cena. WCW country as the super dome was last and only used by WCW, the world or should I say WCW title, his mania match and only wwe match ever. Everything can happen if the stars aligned right. There's no better time for sting to come (TNA ship be sinking) than this year and not to face Taker, but to face Cena who wants the world title to be important.

So if they could get Sting to come in and say that's the WCW title, this is WCW country, and he's a disgrace to it, I think it would go over well. Cenas probably one of the few who can carry him too.
