How Championship Scramble will work

WWE has announced the rules for the "Championship Scramble" matches that will be taking place at Unforgiven in September. The rules have officially been posted on WWE's Fan Nation site.

The match will have a 20 minute time limit. The defending champion and one randomly selected challenger will begin the match with a new, randomly selected wrestler entering the match every 5 minutes until all 5 men are in the ring.

Pinfalls or submissions can happen at any time. Should a wrestler score a pinfall or submission, he will be recognized as a "temporary" champion until the match either ends or he is pinned or made to submit. Whoever is the "temporary" champion when the 20 minute time limit expires will be recognized as the current champion.

so basically we will get just 5 mins of the full 5 man match...thats sorta stupid if you ask me...

I say don't start the time until after the 15 mins or something..

I smell an epic fail. I bet if ECW had a scramble, Braden Walker could have dominated, that's exactly why you aren't seeing a championship scramble on ECW because Braden-Mania is dead.

that 5 minute thing is stupid. the last man will have a huge disadvangtage (It will be Cena and will overcome the odds). I guess he would also have an advantage cause everyone will be worn out. But al 5 men should start the match. I really hope that the temp. champ wont be in the records as a champion

it's kind of confusing, but it reminds me of an Elimination Chamber without the awesomeness and multiple people.

Yea, after I found out about the whole 5 minute thing, I think its dumb. Why not all of them be in the ring at the same time. That'd be much better. Or don't start the actuall 20 minute time until all of them are in. And Im sure at the end, JBL will be the "champ" until last minute GTS comes in and Punk retains the title for 1 more month... and then he's done. But seems like when Punk fights JBL... and wins, it's always "...JBL all over Punk and WHOA Punk has JBL up and BAM GTS out of nowhere.." So Punk retains that. But the whole "man every 5 minutes" thing its stupid. That ruined the match.

This was a great concept for a video game match (hardcore time limit on Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain), but in real life....meh. Cena won't win, that's definite. If Punk doesn't retain, Batista will win. I think JBL has a better chance of winning than Cena.

I thought that match was on Smackdown 2 Know Your Role? And the way I see it, It's either Punk or Tista winning. JBL wont win cause he's JBL. Cena wont win because it seems they trying to tone him down and keep him awya from the title. Kane wont win cause he's going to have that program with Mysterio and if Kane did win that'd mean him and Mysterio would be fighting for that title...BIG NO NO. Im sure Mysterio will have sometype of interference the the Sramble match. And Tista... well Tista could very well win. If Punk does win he'll lose it next PPV its "The Curse of the Small Guy Winning World Title." see Benoit, Eddie, Mysterio, Y2J. Hold the title 4 - 5months. Wont hold agin for 4-5 years....maybe. If Tista did win though that may lead to fueds with him and Kane for the title. But Tista winning could indeed push Cena over and have him turn heel. Tista could do something in the match, piss Cena off, Cena snaps, next RAW, HEEL CENA RETURNS.... well I could hope right? So I got either Tista or Punk winning this match, on the Raw side.
