Legalize weed. Make guns illegal.
Problem solved. Instead of shooting each other, we'll be passing around bongs and blunts. :

Danielson said:You pity me? You took one thing I said and went completly off topic. All I said was that if drugs were legal, more people would do them. So i'm not sure why you gave me that rant, followed by you saying you pity me. I never said I cared if people smoke weed, or even shot heroin either. You just made something up in your head and ran with it. Some of my best friends smoke MJ, and I can say for certain that a lot had to stop due to jobs. If it were legal, more would smoke it. I also said that, if this method was applied to guns, that it'd still be possible to obatin them. Just a hell of a lot harder. soooooo Haha please brother, save your pity for someone who gives a shit.

Scott "AIDS" Hall said:IF your honest opinion is that legalizing drugs will make the problems more prevalent in society, i pity you for being so ignorant. Look at the statistics of countries who have lesser enforcement on the adult individuals right to do drugs. We can disagree, but that is just crazy in my opinion dude.
Scott "AIDS" Hall said:ity1: the drug dealers either have to get legit, OR move to guns. Jesus this topic is fail.
Dolph'sZiggler said:When discussing "drugs" there shoul be a clear differentiation between real drugs that are extremely dangerous and weed.
Also your comparison Danny, while nearly similar on the surface, really is bringing up oranges in an apples thread. How many people would/wouldn't try hard drugs if they were legal is a completely independent variable from how man people would be buying guns if they were illegal. The fact that you backed your hypothetical comparison by using marijuana as your straw man example is another hilariously different topic with and of itself.
Getting rid of all assault rifles being legal doesn't come close to solving this countries atrocious issues with guns, but it is a damn fine start. Anyone saying otherwise needs a reality check. And yes, that is the tip of the steps that need to be taken iceberg, but you can't run a marathon without taking that first step. So for the love of joe Pesci can we take the obvious first step already?
Danielson said:Well my original thought was that, say for example drugs were legal. A lot more would do it, or obtain it just because it's legal. If you make it illegal for assault rifles, like drugs, it might deter a few folks from obtaining them.

Scott "AIDS" Hall said:Getting something like firearms legally is a lot more serious of a process than legalization of drugs.
Senhor Perfect said:Right, cause nobody sells things that are legal, illegally. :george:
Bobby Ray said:The media have a bigger impact than most people care to bring up. Is it a coincidence that the more coverage these mass-shootings are getting, the higher the frequency of occurrence? I'm obviously not saying "don't cover the story" -- that's rather moronic and unrealistic -- but the time it's taking for America to act upon this is ridiculous; it's becoming a trend and it will only increase. The NRA are a bunch of gun-loving morons. If you gave them a nuclear bomb, they would try and legalise citizen usage so everyone gets one, and then blame the people for the inevitable destruction rather than the weapon itself, and the idiots handing them out.
