That made no sense abotu seeing an action film with the name Dwayne.....it's his name!

People are just angry 'cause he left Wrestling.

He's done, he did everything he had to do, nothing left to do but....job to Batista and Cena? Rock is done with Wrestling, and doing bigger and better things. Some some reviews call his movies 'rotten' People shouldnt count on reviews, they're by critics who don't know shit. They call a lot of movies bad, but are pretty funny or good. People like Dwayne Johnson. He wants to be called by his real name, damn, get off the man's ass and stop hating on him. He gets more known and bigger roles by the year it seems, he was nominated for a People's Choice Awards....obviously DWAYNE is still loved. He was at the Oscar's. Could you name a big actor who didn't have some movies refered to as "rotten" or being bad. Adam Sandler is a prime example with a lot of those "rotten" ratings, yet is a millionaire, very known, and is a big actor.....so if your arguement is based on rottentomatoes.com reviews from half assed critics.....then you need a new arguement.

You're welcome

He still acts like hes higher than everyone in the WWE. Etleast thats what he made it sound like at the ceremony. His comment on Y2J made him look like an asshole IMO. Hes on my shitlist for takeing a shot at jericho lol.

when it says he made wrestling he did not make wrestling, if anything WRESTLING MADE HIM WHAT HE IS TODAY!

He did get over the top with the speech, and his comments must have offended people, it was like a short Rock promo on Television not a Hall of Fame induction and that's what offended people, but then again whatever! The Rock was great on the microphone!

^For real, who cares what people say. Yeah, mighta went slightly overboared, but come on, it's Dwayne Johnson we're talking about, not Jesse & Festus. Dwayne who made Smackdown! and made WWE bigger in the late 90's, one of the best entertainers in WWE History, and you expect a boring HOF speech....come on, truthfully, aside of Flair, noone really care for Rocky Johnson, tell the truth. People tuned in for two reasons - Ric Flair, and DWAYNE JOHNSON.

OK, there are two sides here.

The stupidity of the WWE. They really brought back The Rock so that he...made a quick speech honoring their family? Hell no, in fact, I could bet WWE had so many to do with the speech, because, you really think that between all the people would talked about or talk to, he would pick Santino Marella?

His comments about Y2J and Mick Foley felt like if he was above them. Not in a "I'm Better than you" way, but in I moved on and you are in my past. But, actually, he did put people over n his speech, altough I don't believe this part was televised, he said that there was the 3 people he would still like to wrestle (John Cena, Rey Mysterio, HBK).

Let's look at all the Rock's movies that have come out and we've seen. I'll use rottentomatos.com ratings which collect a bunch of reviews from the top movie critics in the country and box office revenue. A movie must have at least a 60% rating to be considered "Fresh" (means a good movie) otherwise it's "Rotten" (means it's a bad movie).

The Mummy Returns-46% rating (Rotten) BO: $200,691120

The Scorpion King-39% rating (Rotten) BO: $90,341,670

The Rundown-71% rating (Fresh) BO: $47,592,825

Walking Tall-24% rating (Rotten) BO: $45,860,039

Be Cool-29% rating (Rotten) BO: $55,590,667

Doom-19% rating (Rotten) BO: $28,031,250

Gridiron Gang-42% rating (Rotten) BO: $38,432,823

The Game Plan-27% rating (Rotten) BO: $90,547,946

Southland Tales-34% rating (Rotten) BO: $227,365 (ouch!)

So basically he has had only one movie that has been considered good by film critics (which was at the prime of his wrestling career) and only one movie that has eclipsed $100 million at the box office which doesn't even count because he was in it for about 4 seconds. He's not a good actor, he's not a good box office draw....he's only a C-list celebrity and dropping the Rock is only gonna hurt him. (Who wants to see an action movie where the main character's name is Dwayne?) His wrestling audience won't go watch his movies anymore so he shouldn't belittle the WWE so much when that was what made him and will be what he is most famous for. It's like how Gary Coleman hates being reminded of whatchu talkin bout wilice.

Awesome factual post, gets people thinking about The Rock!

I agree, he is an actor because he was a wrestler and without WWE his acting career would have been nothing! He isn't even the biggest star of all time but if you look at it overall, The Rock was pretty entertaining at the induction ceremony and that's what really matters!

At least he made a joke about Doom. I suppose that's all we could expect to get out of him. Judging by his recent TV appearances in the UK he needs some prompting to take the mic out of himself. I could see a Rock vs John Cena match - that would be cool. Could have some more funny promos about the film work, etcetera etcetera. Won't happen though, I tell you that the Rock is finished with wrestling. Hope I'm wrong, and I hope that the 'one more match' chants from the crowd at the HoF could persuade him? :)

He didn't trash Y2J or Mick Foley. He's said many times Mick is one of his best friens in Wrestling, and him and Y2J go way back, hell, Y2J debuted in WWE/F giving a promo to The Rock. For anyone to think Rock disrespected anyone, they're are dumb. (Except he may have disrespected Cena, which is good, anyone remember the shit Cena talked about the Rock?) And Rock was truthful bout Cena's movie, and his movie Doom, both sucked. Rock > Cena, Rock >most WWE Wrestlers now. PERIOD.

EDIT: Also, what is with the idiots saying how Dwayne doesn't wanna be called The Rock cause he's trying to get away from his WWE roots. "The Rock" is a CHARACTER. Dwayne Johnson is THE MAN. You think Dustin Diamond likes to be called by a character he used to be, Screech? Stone Cold just goes by Steve Austin now, why? Cause his REAL name is Steve Austin (changed his last name to Austin I heard) Guys like HBK and HHH might keep their character name if they became actors, cause their real name is funked up, lol. But Dwayne is not in character no more. Last Saturday he was IN CHARACTER for one night, you people enjoyed it, so get over it. I bet you're gonna trash Dwayne now, but if he came back ypu'd all mark out like 7 year olds do for John Cena. So just face facts, and the fact is Dwayne Johnson was great at the HOF Ceremony.....no, THE ROCK was great at the HOF Ceremony

Ok fine, let's pretend that we don't care if his movies suck or not......You bring up Adam Sandler but the difference is that Sandler is a BOX OFFICE DRAW, plus he's been an actor from the start and that's what he's most famous for. As for the whole Dwayne Johnson yea it is his real name but most actors go by what's called "stage names". For example, Martin Sheen's real name is Ramon Estevez, yet he goes by Martin Sheen cause it sounds better. It's like if Mr. T went by his real name (which is Laurence Tureaud for those who are curious). The Rock is not a character it's a stage name, I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to go by his real name but doing so will lose his fanbase going to his movies because younger newer wrestling fans never got a chance to see him.

CENAMARK WINS!!! For the past numbers of years people have been bitching and moaning about The Rock. He shows up for one night, and does what he does best which is entertain.... And people are bitching and moaning because he did that? COME ON!

One more thing, to the guy that posted The Rock's Box Office numbers. They might not jump out of you, but the fact is that most of Rocky's movies have made more money that what it cost to make them. That=Earnings, which means that Rock IS doing a good job in Hollywood.

Dwayne who made Smackdown! and made WWE bigger in the late 90's

1.) Vince McMahon made Smackdown and 2.) Stone Cold is the man who made WWE huge in the late 90s, yes The Rock helped out along with DX and many more but imho none of them had the impact that Austin had on the Monday Night Wars.

What he did on stage was fine with me, as CenaMark54 it was entertainment and that's what The Rock does best entertain. But him not speaking to his old friends is what pisses me off, come on dude wrestling was apart of your life and there's no need to put it off like it never was.

If The Rock came out and was serious then people would say "Oh that was Dwanye Johnson not The Rock."

And about the movie facts, I don't consider Austin's performance in Condemned Oscar worthy. Levesque wasn't much in Blade Trilogy (which was probably the worst outta the series). And lets not forget Hogan in Mr. Nanny. Let's face it, critics are not the biggest wrestling fans. Wrestlers do movies to entertain the audience, not the critics.
