A number of people in WWE weren't pleased with how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson came off this past Saturday night. He did not leave a positive impression on a number of wrestlers at the Hall of Fame banquet.

A number of sources report that Johnson did not hang out with old friends before and after his speech at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He showed up for the speech, delivered one that offended many in WWE and was believed to be too long, and then left.

Some of his former colleagues are saying that Johnson came across as "aloof" and "totally Hollywood," as if he were "above WWE now," not to mention everyone in WWE as well. One of those people include one-time friend Steve Austin, who was openly displeased and taken aback by Johnson's demeanor.

Here is one wrestler's comments regarding Johnson's Hall of Fame speech: "This wasn't a roast. This was supposed to be a tribute to his dad and grandfather. Instead, he did an hour plus of comedy, running way long, then did a short tribute to his dad and grandfather, then left. It was rude of him."

WWE had plans to control the length of the Hall of Fame speeches, but the induction ceremony ran way over the planned length in large part due to Johnson's drawn out speech. Flair's Hall of Fame speech ran long as well, but everyone was forgiving of that considering that it was his night.

After the event, pretty much everyone backstage shared in their resentment and disappointment on Johnson's conduct at the Hall of Fame. The belief backstage was that Johnson had no reason to treat old friends like discards from a past life.

Johnson's speech went on first because he had to catch a plane immediately to Las Vegas, where they are filming his latest movie, Space Mountain. After he left, two individuals took shots at him during their Hall of Fame speeches. When praising John Cena, Ric Flair made a point to say that Cena, "Will never leave our business for Hollywood." Triple H mentioned, "Rock fans," and then said, "Oops, am I supposed to say Dwayne fans now?"
Huh. o.o

I absolutely love the Rock, one of my all time favorites, and seeing him on TV again as the Rock was fantastic. But I couldn't agree more with what they said about the speech. I also felt like I was watching a roast, not a HOF induction. From what I saw I felt that he talked way too long and soaked up the moment for himself more than for his grandfather and dad. This night was supposed to be about them getting inducted into the HOF, if I didn't know better I would have thought that the Rock was getting inducted. Again I love the Rock and was happy to see him, but I thought his speech was too long and didn't fit in with what the event was supposed to be about. Personally I would have preferred to have seen more of the Flair speech and a little less of the Rock, because as said this was Flair's night not the Rock's.

Ric Flair made a point to say that Cena, "Will never leave our business for Hollywood."

Never say never Ric, his next movie (12 Rounds I believe the name of it is) could set box office records and he can be gone just like that. And on the subject of 'The Rock' acting like he's above wrestling now, it's not that big of a shock to me. As I said many times before he seems to distance himself from his past as a wrestler, I heard he doesn’t even like to talk about it in interviews. Mr. Johnson can go blow a monkey for all I care

Fuck what Flair said.

Rock was great at the HOF ceremony. It was funny and entertaining, period. If he wanted to take time up, let him. Funny thing is he talked about Cena, and fans liked it. That's a shame. It was the truth. People need to stop hating on The Rock. He did not act like he was above of the WWE, he made Wrestling and his dad and grandfather sound great, so whoever said that, fuck them. And Triple H, Cena, Flair....they're just mad and pissed. Rock told the truth bout Cena and everything else he said.

There are so many things wrong with that post I don't know where to begin.

First of all you're not a fan of wrestling and you don't know shit about it if you didn't like that Flair speech. That was one of the most moving speeches I've ever heard he blew me away.

Second of all I absolutely love the Rock, one of my all-time favorite wrestlers. Is he still great on the mic, no doubt about it. However this was not his night, it was about the people being inducted into the HOF. He took up wayyyyy to much time talking about shit other than the people actually being inducted. His speech would have been fantastic at a roast, but was over the top for a HOF induction.

You said you have a problem with people with egos, yet you're saying the Rock doesn't have one? Again I love the Rock, but he wouldn't be anywhere without the WWE. He changed his screen name back to Dwayne Johnson when it was the Rock that got him to where is now. I have no problem with the Rock doing movies, if that's what he wants to do, but don't forget what got you to where you are now and the people that helped you get there. The Rock has a huge ego and even though I still love him for what he did in wrestling, I don't really like the person he has become now.

Not to mention that all the Rock's movies are shitty....I mean ALL of them. I can't even name one that's decent and none of them have done well at the box office except the gameplan but that's because it was a disney movie.

Doom sucked, yes.

But The Rundown was pretty good
Gridiron Gang was good
Walking Tall wasn't bad
Was hilarious, and stole the show in Be Cool
Game Plan was alright
Get Smart is going to be great
Southland Tales, never seen it so IDK.
EDIT: Scorpion King was good, and you said Gameplan was his best making cause it was Disney? Best of my knowledge, Scorpion King made more than Gameplan, and actually has the Guinnes World Record for most money made or some shit like that for a first leading role.

So I wouldn't say his movies are shitty. One at the most was shitty, perhaps two.

Marine was shitty, See No Evil was shitty, a couple Hogan movies were very shitty......Blade Trinity was alright. Rock's movies, pretty good. And he's one of the busies actors around now, he will be a big name actor, guarantee it

Just saw the video on youtube he did come off as an ass. His comments about chris jericho were messed up saying his hair makes him look like a 12 year old boy. I dont think the rock should be talking about anybody one of his characters in his movies was gay.

He's career as an actor is 100% based off of his wrestling career. Without it, he wouldn't be anywhere. The only reason he can or will be considered a great actor is because of his fanbase as a wrestler and what he accomplished in the ring.

Let's look at all the Rock's movies that have come out and we've seen. I'll use rottentomatos.com ratings which collect a bunch of reviews from the top movie critics in the country and box office revenue. A movie must have at least a 60% rating to be considered "Fresh" (means a good movie) otherwise it's "Rotten" (means it's a bad movie).

The Mummy Returns-46% rating (Rotten) BO: $200,691120

The Scorpion King-39% rating (Rotten) BO: $90,341,670

The Rundown-71% rating (Fresh) BO: $47,592,825

Walking Tall-24% rating (Rotten) BO: $45,860,039

Be Cool-29% rating (Rotten) BO: $55,590,667

Doom-19% rating (Rotten) BO: $28,031,250

Gridiron Gang-42% rating (Rotten) BO: $38,432,823

The Game Plan-27% rating (Rotten) BO: $90,547,946

Southland Tales-34% rating (Rotten) BO: $227,365 (ouch!)

So basically he has had only one movie that has been considered good by film critics (which was at the prime of his wrestling career) and only one movie that has eclipsed $100 million at the box office which doesn't even count because he was in it for about 4 seconds. He's not a good actor, he's not a good box office draw....he's only a C-list celebrity and dropping the Rock is only gonna hurt him. (Who wants to see an action movie where the main character's name is Dwayne?) His wrestling audience won't go watch his movies anymore so he shouldn't belittle the WWE so much when that was what made him and will be what he is most famous for. It's like how Gary Coleman hates being reminded of whatchu talkin bout wilice.

That made no sense abotu seeing an action film with the name Dwayne.....it's his name!

People are just angry 'cause he left Wrestling.

He's done, he did everything he had to do, nothing left to do but....job to Batista and Cena? Rock is done with Wrestling, and doing bigger and better things. Some some reviews call his movies 'rotten' People shouldnt count on reviews, they're by critics who don't know shit. They call a lot of movies bad, but are pretty funny or good. People like Dwayne Johnson. He wants to be called by his real name, damn, get off the man's ass and stop hating on him. He gets more known and bigger roles by the year it seems, he was nominated for a People's Choice Awards....obviously DWAYNE is still loved. He was at the Oscar's. Could you name a big actor who didn't have some movies refered to as "rotten" or being bad. Adam Sandler is a prime example with a lot of those "rotten" ratings, yet is a millionaire, very known, and is a big actor.....so if your arguement is based on rottentomatoes.com reviews from half assed critics.....then you need a new arguement.

You're welcome
