Heat on Edge?

There is a lot of heat on Edge within WWE right now. WWE pretty much made another Legends deal offer to him when he worked the recent SmackDown tapings but he was not interested. Edge does not want to be locked into a WWE deal and wants to be able to do his own things. When WWE originally saw that Edge's contract was ending, they offered him a Legends deal similar to what Shawn Michaels has but word is the money offered was a bit of an insult.

There is also some heat on Edge because of Beth Phoenix leaving. There's a belief that she's leaving in part to help him recover from neck surgery in November. Also, there are some people high up in the company that aren't happy about his upcoming appearance for Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore promotion.

Edge and WWE will most likely work together in the future but there is definitely the feeling within WWE that he's sort of gone against them.

Edge can do whatever he pleases, he is pretty much appearing on HOH to help Tommy Dreamer and gain fans to watch the show... I don't see a problem.

Don't see the big deal here... It's not like he's showing up on Impact or bad mouthing WWE anywhere... I'm sure in time a deal will be struck but WWE comes off as a bit petty here... and if they were so concerned over Beth Phoenix leaving maybe they could have done something with her for the last 4 months.

i find this hilarious that they blame Edge for Beth leaving. As for the Tommy thing idk why WWE would care really it's not like they are losing fans but i guess they won't be making money off Edge's name so i kinda understand.

WWE should and probably do have a high level of respect for Edge. As much as guys like HBK, Taker and HHH are respected, Edge should be no different. The man was an absolute workhorse, company man and LOVED wrestling. I'm sure this report is bullshit. I can't ever see WWE having heat on Edge so long as he doesn't appear on TNA.

I can only see heat because they aren't scoring the money they want off of him. But Edge can do what he wants and will do what he wants. It is what it is.

Well the WWE didn't have a problem with Mick "Legacy Tarnisher" Foley jumping back and forth from TNA, so why would they care about Edge putting some asses in the seats in an even lower promotion?

If there is heat on Edge I'm not sure why it would be coming from the WWE. He is no longer under contract to them therefore he can do as he pleases as he no longer works for the company. I get the sense that WWE are quite bitter about his retirement. This article seems to have an undertone to it suggesting that because Edge is going to be at House of Hardcore that in someway he is able to perform for WWE. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it but that was my initial thought. You never know, Edge may return many years down the line to have his 'real' retirement match.

Shit is stupid if this is truly the case of them essentially mad at someone for not wanting them to control what he does and has a life outside of wrestling. And also blaming him for Beth is laughable. Maybe if you actually made an effort to make the women there feel wanted and act like you gave damn she'd be more inclined to stay.
