I see where you're coming from, though it is a reach. But every top guy is different from the last. The serious grappler in Bruno gave way to the ultra charismatic Hogan, who gave way to a really technical Bret who passed the torch to Rock and Austin, the two best promos ever possibly, definitely the two rudest. Then Cena comes along who's clean cut as hell, then...

There's a reason Backlund (may be a bad example) and Luger didn't pan out though. You can't try to push the same top guy in different paint lol

I'm still shocked they put Reigns opposite Cena like that...
it just highlighted how miscast he truly is.

I also like to think Vince wanted to have the Reigns/Cena
match as a Wrestlemania main event...but Cena was like:

"I ain't going though that shit Vince! I'll do it on a B-show...
& not in the main event slot!"

I remember a time when i didnt like Cena like alot of other people, but then i realised just how great he was on the mic, and how great he can be in the ring too (His matches against Owens and AJ Styles and his US Title Open Challenges) Sure, he defeated Bray at WrestleMania when Bray needed the win, but lets be honest, that was Vince's fault, not Cena's, its always Vince, Vince was the one having Cena win all the time, not John.

Now i actually like it when John shows up, hes been gone for so long its like a breath of fresh air.

The only way I think they can book it as a dream match now is if they have Cena beat Reigns at Summer Slam or Survivor Series.

Then they have a 3rd match at a WrestleMania to give Roman a redemption angle

solid with Rollins' cash in elevating it to another level.

I'll be surprised if Reigns ever gets that spot again...mainly due to the fact
the WWE is so scared right now that whatever fan support he has will be
flushed down the toilet as soon as they start "pushing" him again.

Hence why he's basically been in the mid-card since his clean bill of health

But knowing WWE they would probably give it a "Roman's dark side is taking over" angle

I would honestly rather see Cena main event for a decade and get 20 world gold then to watch Roman’s monster push for a year. Cena is a damn good wrestler, full package, possibly in top 10 all time greats. And Roman is just Roman, glorified mid-carder who is on the skill level of one Jack Swagger
