I wouldn't say the stories sucked but they were overrated to me. Twilight was just bloody awful though. Clearly smooth marketing for the teen girl fan base who are easily charmed. The movies just made the books even worst. At least with Harry Potter the movies have some improvement. Not really my cup of tea either way.

The Harry Potter formula is pretty simple...

Boarding School Mysteries wrapped in Magic & I can see the appeal.

I've never read any of the novels but I recently watched all the films
again for only the second time...& I enjoyed them with the Prisoner of
Azkaban being my favorite.

Comparing Harry Potter to Twilight seems harsh seeing as the Potter
franchise has characters with actual character...and if the Twilight films
were any indication...well...everybody in that franchise seems really boring.
