Suspending disbelief is such a funny concept in wrestling too bc any time something unrealistic happens but people like it, they dgaf about suspending disbelief, but when they dislike something they feel the need to explain why to show that their opinion is "right" so they bring up suspending disbelief when it's perfectly acceptable to say you just don't enjoy that something happened.

I mean we've watched grown men hit each other with sledgehammers in the head, but one woman beating one less than spectacular man is too much?

So is @Grim. It's history-defining. I believe it happening to Tessa was good for her and the business.

The whole argument is made pointless very easily. Any one of us can go on YouTube and search "girl beats boy" and bam... girls beating boys in everything from basketball to MMA to high school wrestling.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible terrible argument.

I just want to point out at this, I doubt the Women's team was even trying. :TI: so to use that as part of your argument is laughable at best.

I don’t care if they are trying or not it certainly doesn’t help their brand by losing to teenage boys. I guarantee you they were not trying to lose.

Feel free to provide an example of a time in real life where a women has beaten a man in anything physical at an elite, competitive level.

I’ll wait

Exactly.

Just be like me sand say you didn't like that she won. Don't try to use any other reason behind it.

Are you sexist? Just admit it, man. You've been proven wrong like three times now.

See I actually disagree with your point here even though I do agree it's also a terrible argument. He was bringing up PEAK women athletes and PEAK male athletes which the real kicker here is assuming Sami is that bc he was champion but that's besides the point. He wasn't talking about any woman beating any man, but a woman beating a TOP male athlete so slightly different than what you're saying, he'd probably agree a random woman could beat a random man at stuff.

Maybe he didn't get the memo that pro wrestling isn't an actual competitive sport? I figured the demons, leprechauns and space men was a dead giveaway.

This argument is killing me because I liked Tessa winning...

...that said I feel spending disbelief is fine when the rules of wrestling say you can Irish whip someone or you want to believe Undertaker is a zombie because it's part of the general story, but it's harder to forget the general difference in size and strength between men and women when you see them fighting. And for the record I also found Rey Mysterio fighting larger people weird.

So be like me and say you don't like the choice she won, and leave it at that. It doesn't have to be that deep.

Do you hate when stuff happens in wrestling that should legit kill the person it happens to? We've had people dropped from cars high in the air, we've have people buried alive, people set on fire so bad it should kill them, etc. Is any of that bad? It's wrestling my guy.

Can you name a time a man was buried alive and came back a few months later? News flash: wrestling is fantasy my guy, the big deal here is that Tessa was marketable enough to get the top belt in the company...not that she "physically bested" a man, that's just the theater
