why do people have to be judged on smarts on this forum, why cant we just be nice to nice people. guess what lads? it does you no good being so bitter
That's two words I've asked you to look up if you're going to continue using them in conversation. And, apparently, you have not looked up either one. I can tell because you still misuse them both.
Why do people have to be judged on smarts? Because that's how the world works. If you get along fine without any intelligence, good for you. But, in most places, you're constantly judged by how smart you are. And if you think you're not being constantly judged on your intelligence, then you're probably an idiot.
Why can't we just be nice to nice people? I am nice to nice people. I am constantly nice to nice people, even ones of, shall we say, less than normal levels of intellect. I was raised in the southern United States and was taught from an early age to treat people kindly and to always look for people's best natures and focus on their "better angels" rather than their worse ones. And I've done that. If you want to take a comprehensive look at all the responses I make to people on this forum, probably around 80% are complimentary, even when they shouldn't be. But, no, it's much easier, I guess, to focus on the 20% of criticism (the grand majority of it being both well-deserved and well-written, if I do say so myself).
And, finally, we all get it: you like BLFFL. That's cool. I think the two of you should meet for coffee in real life. Maybe you would get along and could have a relationship. And, since I'm so "bitter", let me express that I don't mean this in a derogatory manner for either of you. I think it's wonderful when two people with similar interests and complementary personalities end up together. Why? Because that's what happened in my own life with my wife and me. I think it's a beautiful thing and, if you find that you bring each other true happiness, that's absolutely wonderful.
Otherwise, though, please refrain from judging my mood (you know, my "bitterness") by your flawed measures. And quit telling me to be nice to people.
It makes you seem bitter and something of a bully.
Lad.
