I think hammer was the top guy while Jacob was take top heel.
Losing both def would suck for MLW, so we’ll see if Jacob ends up re signing, or going somewhere else.

Hammerstone was their absolute top guy after beating Fatu. I rate Fatu higher too but Hammer was def the MLW ace until losing to Kane and they haven't really had once since.

The hell does it even matter? Be like telling someone to check out RVD in 99 and they're like "I'm good. Pretty sure Taz is their top guy".

Finally enough, it’s just kind of what I was saying to Jeff earlier. It would be like Don Callis saying oh I could have Sammy Guevara in my group, but he’s number two to Jericho so who cares. :slip:

I mean Sammy is a midcard twink it still made no sense outside of just hurting Jericho. Hell I'm not really into Fletch being in either. The original mission statement was supposed to be a stable of killers. Only thing Sammy's ever killed is a box of energy drinks.

I must’ve missed the promo where he specifically said they had to be killers as I thought he was just looking for top athletes that were going to take him to the top but I just think some reason you just don’t see the potential in Sammy the way that I do for some reason. I think Sammy is going to be a future star for AEW when they’re ready to pull the trigger on him.

I like Sammy just not in that group. I don't see Sammy as a future world champion like takeshita and to a lesser degree Hobbs. The og mission statement was killers to end kenny omega and the elite . Respectful dont think Sammy is a physical or psychological threat to anyone in the main event scene . Maybe one day but with the current roster he's very far down the line of people I would consider threats to kenny omega. I don't think that's a hot take either, Sammy is cool but I never felt he matched the energy, the size or the grittyness of that faction. He would make a lot more sense in something less serious imo.

I feel like this might be similar to the Matt Taven conversation because I undoubtedly believe Sammy Guevara is going to be a future world champion but maybe not before certain others in the pecking order sure, but if we’re talking about Hobbs, definitely before Hobbs in my opinion.

I said before I must’ve missed whenever he mentioned them needing to be killers because I think they’ve evolved past that because like you even mentioned Fletcher’s in the group, and I wouldn’t classify him as a killer and honestly that is also the war dogs schtick. So I would lean more towards being the elite. As a snub on the elite.

Now, as far as how they actually did it I do think it had to do with Jericho, because with Omega hurt their goal has shifted more towards Jericho and yeah, what better way than to steal the guy you thought was going to be your replacement more or less. Sammy was always positioned in the groups as the guy that was being meant to most by Jericho.

But yeah, now that we are where we’re at now I would just keep Sammy a babyface and probably not put him in any more groups.

Also, I was just pulling your chain because your original claim was just that he was the number two guy in the Jericho group and that’s precisely what EC was poking fun at here :hayden3

well number 2 in a group is not in the same league as number 2 in the entire company...

No, but same principal you don’t want number two if you can’t have number one lol

yeah and I'll keep saying I have no idea why you think this when the guy still can't cut a promo at a main event caliber. Match wise he's great. but he's well below average in promo and charisma, and general overness. I don't see main event in him whatsoever in this company and while I respect your opinion, I just don't get it at all.
