We are down to two men. An argument can be made for either one, so I am interested to see how this matchup ends, and who is declared the Greatest Ring of Honor World Champion in the history of the company. I will stop the voting Thursday night at 8 PM EST. Thanks to all who have participated, it's been great!

1. Samoa Joe [645] {29}

Samoa Joe - Joe's reign had a lengthy story with Joe's conditioning slowly decreasing the longer the reign went on. 2003 Joe dominated. Early 2004 Joe started running into problems. Middle of 2004 Joe had guys he couldn't beat. Finally, December Joe revolved around him only cheating to win and then losing the belt. Joe's reign helped ROH's title stand out from all other indy titles as one that meant something and could produce plenty of great matches. Joe made Punk, The Briscoes, Dan Maff and Austin Aries look like they were deserving of being in the main event. Joe's title reign also gave birth to Homicide's psycho heel turn, Low-Ki spitting on ROH and the final step in establishing Austin Aries as a top guy. As good of matches as AmDrag had, I don't believe his reign had as many interesting layers to it as Joe's. The big thing that came out of Danielson's reign was the birth of Nigel McGuinness as someone who mattered. However, for Danielson's one example of doing this, Joe had a few. Now, you can give Danielson a plus for defending the title more, but it's not a fair comparison since ROH was running far more shows in 2006 than in 2003-2004.

Very very close, but I gotta give the edge to Samoa Joe as his run did so much more for the company. Danielson was a great champion who really helped the company during its peak, but Joe's SAVED the company from going under. The stats between the two are close, but the long term ramifications of Joe's far outweigh Dragon's.

I never followed ROH during either of their reigns, most I've seen is from the "ROH Classics" show or downloading matches, when it comes to that I'm more in favor of Danielson. Every match I saw of his title run he knocked it out of the park. My vote is Danielson.

I am going to have to go with Joe myself, for the same reasons that Horrorfan stated. Also, elaborating on one point, I remember being familiar with ROH in the early days of Joe's reign, but I never got into it. It wasn't until I heard more and more about Joe's work and the success of ROH as an indy promotion that I started to tune in, and I became hooked on their product. I felt Joe was the stronger of the two champions, especially given his position as LB had stated in a previous post.
