The Dark Knight is a good film, but it's ridiculously overrated. Yeah BOOOOO me, but whatever. It deserves praise, just not nearly the amount it gets simply because of Heath Ledger. When an actor dies making a movie, the movie is instantly a classic no matter how good it really is. Take The Crow for instance...
Reservoir Dogs wins this for me. It had more than one good actor and a much better director. It also made the most of the limited budget it worked on.
You are right and thats a fair point. Trouble is we live in a age where high profile movies either have to be considered masterpieces or total crap where as often the truth is somewhere in the middle. The Dark Knight is a very good movie, not a master piece, but still very good.
