As an aside he also was a main eventer when I stopped watching for a good 5 years (because of Benoit, ironically enough), so I was never really connected with Jeff like a lot of other people.

I don’t think Benoit should even be in the tournament

Yeah I'm just not gonna bother, Benoit is apparently a perfect wrestler who never had bad matches and he was super charismatic. He is a more complete wrestler and way better than a guy with 3 decades in the business who made it as a main eventer ontop of being half of one of the most important tag teams of all time, influencing multiple generations of future wrestlers. He had a few good years , had a short run ontop but but gosh darnit he was a ring general and that's way more important

Listen, I’m on your side when it comes to Jeff > Benoit and also just generally the side of workrate is definitely not everything but in fairness you ran into the burning building while not knowing what fire was. It’s okay not to know a lot about a certain wrestler, dude. Especially when that guy has been censored for years by WWE for good reason, no need to be worked up by it.

Jeff has had some bangers my fav match of all time (or one of them) is Jeff vs. Taker Ladder Match from Raw. I was on the edge of my seat screaming for him to win it. The make yourself famous kid line still rings in my ears. I am also someone who prefers Jeff style too, I like flippy vs. more traditional. I do think though the overall Chris was the better wrestler. I mean especially if we stand on Jeff Hardy (solo) as compared to his tag matches too. If that makes sense? Maybe im wrong.

i literally accepted what Chris said and none of that negates what I said about Jeff or about the hypocrisy of people putting a murder on a pedestal. I like work rate but it's,fuckimg embarrassing to pretend this guy is anywhere near the greats. I still have no idea how wrestling fans have the lowest of lowest of moral fiber

I think two things can be true at the same time.

Chris Benoit was a great wrestler(in my opinion)

Chris Benoit was also a shit human being.

Being a great wrestler does not excuse the fact that he was a shit human being, but to me he was a great wrestler nonetheless.

I don’t think the two need to be mutually exclusive.

And I think it takes a special kind of sociopath to be able to to separate the two while punishing Jeff hardys later half of his career . Basically penalizing him for being alive and not being a murderer. That's the fucking problem , people don't separate jeff n the performer by bringing up his past transgression the whole thread lol. Yall are huge hypocrites and imo use non sense logic

I’m not denying what he did was bad, I hate what he did. I just personally prefer him as a wrestler out of the two here but I wouldn’t be mad if he got bounced out here.

I like Jeff Hardy a lot too, definitely prefer him over Matt. I won’t hold his personal affairs against him here though, like I said I just prefer Benoit as a wrestler over him here.

Just talking about wrestling, Benoit for sure. Jeff was the better of the Hardy's as well.

Jeff had a better 2007-2024 that is indisputable.

Jeff Hardy arguably had a couple years better between 2000 and 2006 too.

This is easy AF. Jeff wins every time. I pray that he has finally completely shed his demons but even with his demons he has had 17 better years than the other guy simply by the fact that he's alive and not being a murderous piece of shit.

People, if WS Jeff and Trooper agree on a wrestling opinion doesn't that make it indisputable?
