I thought Goldberg was pretty good in the ring. He wasn't some Great Khali, he had some cool moves. He had the usual moves (clothesline, suplex, superplex, body slam, backdrop, etc.) and also some other cool slams that I don't know the name of. It was also cool the way he would lift up his opponents by catching them while they were running the ropes and then drop them and catch them into a power slam. And of course, he had an awesome finish (spear, jackhammer.)

I don't care that Ryback is (at least slightly) a better wrestler, Goldberg had a better 'presence' and also had cooler theme music and a better entrance. And a better finish, of course. People also cared more about his undefeated streak than they do Ryback's.
