Goddamnit WWE put the world title on some pasty faced red head in his first year.

Sheamus isnt nearly as over as the creature feature act of the undertaker was. In fact, only until Goldberg and then Brock Lesnar did someone get that over THAT fast. This was shock for the sake of shock.

From what i've seen, Sheamus is fairly over. No matter who you are, putting a guy like Cena through a table will get a reaction.

No way, no one's hardly reacted to him. Miz and even Legacy (WITH ORTON!) get more heat than him. And of course, any time Jericho is on. The crowd was dead in his match vs. MVP. The only time they reacted is when he is face to face with Cena in which the crowd will obviously always react no matter who it is.

I wouldn't react to a match with MVP in it either. The crowds suck these days. Sheamus has been booked like a monster, and the only logical way for him to continue was to challenge for the title. Cena gets most of the reactions, so the only way to also get a reaction is to be involved with Cena. Or take down DX.

Exactly. I just referred to that in that other thread. You looked didn't you Nope.

Fuck Cena. I'd like to see what happened to the ratings if he left for good.

Yeah but when Brock, Taker, and Goldberg were getting reactions it was because of their natural charisma. Taker it was more the gimmick, but with Brock and Goldberg it was their natural look, they looked like shit kickers and played the part well. Sheamus is just another guy.

I think the IWC's problem with the Sheamus push is that they could have given it to someone who's been with the company longer, someone that actually draws heat from the crowd. WWE's writing team is paid to produce interesting storylines, we all know they could have come up with something better than this. I'm not ranting because at the very least they pushed someone new, but there are lots of other guys that could have been in Sheamus' spot.

Exactly. But on that logic, listen to the reaction Randy gets. He barely gets one now when he's not tied in with Cena every fucking night.

Sometimes. Weren't they cheering when he beat the shit out of Kofi? Lmao. That's when you know a face push has failed.

Orton always gets weird reactions. I think people pop for him all the time because he's a sadistic fuck and gives us probably the most mature aspect of the show quite often. He's also the closest we've got to a bad ass heel at this point which is something people sorely want again. He's a pretty entertaining tbh, and in a company that's supposed to be selling fighting he's perhaps the most violent thing in it.

I think the other problem with guys like Orton etc is that the days of black and white are over. It's not that simple anymore. I'm not saying that there cannot be heels and faces anymore but the characters need to be more realistic and that means more shades of grey. You know what I mean?

Yeah... but sadly those kind of guys are hard to get over. People usually don't know how to respond to them, the get a mixed reaction and WWE takes it as they couldn't get over and they get forgotten.
SCSA was probably the best example of one who did manage to get over.

Yeah but on the flip side Cena is supposed to be a hardcore babyface but gets mixed reactions.

Undertaker is a face but still has heelish tendencies and gets a pure face reaction. On the opposite end of the spectrum Orton should be a thoroughly hated heel but he gets some face reaction.

I think the WWE needs to stop treating us like idiots. Even kids aren't that dumb.
