American History X's ending was a downer and made it loo like there was no breaking the cycle of racial hatred.

Plus the director was a total schizo who didn't even like it.

I love both movies, but I went with Departed here.

Why is that bad thing? Just being honest, surely films have a role to do just that.

History X had far more impact on me than Departed.

American History X gets my vote. Ballsy movie that went places most directors are afraid to. Departed was just meh imo

Both amazing movies but American History X was the much more needed movie that covered one of the biggest issues in the country.

Love The Departed, but have to go with American History X though. Ed Norton's performance in that film is bloody amazing.

Being honest? That is n't being honest, futility is giving up the struggle and acting like shit never changes when it does.

Departed is still a better movie, because it was basically the best of Scorsese all wrapped into one movie. Except no Pesci and De Niro but Jack is as good as it gets............Pun.
