I personally hated using conversations in this game for scum chat. It's also come to my attention that moderators can see online activity even when invisible which is a major issue given the "Engaged in Conversation" status

I don’t think anyone has ever hunted off that, and if they did we should tell them off and maybe suspend them for a game or two.

I think we would need clear proof that any moderators playing the game (including yourself) cannot see if a player was viewing that particular 'hidden' forum. I'm not saying anyone would intentionally game the system in this way, but you know, mistakes happen

Other mods couldn’t see it unless I gave them permission.

And you’d either have to trust I’d block myself from seeing it or I can opt out of playing. I’d rather not play if it means having a better playing option for you guys.

its not hard to make a discord account and a private server or channel or chatroom for the game that has the mafia memebrs and the host, then make other chat rooms if needed for the mason and deadchat. all private obviously. and players can set their status on discord to offline.

its not going to steal the members to just make a chat room / channel for the game with the mafia memebrs and the host. if the members r loyal they arent going anywhere lol

There’s zero guarantee that wouldn’t be happening. My personal biggest reason is I don’t want a single person who currently doesn’t have a discord to sign up for one for mafia. Forums currently only exist because not everyone has converted to discord yet.

If you can block yourself from seeing it I'd be fine trusting you not to peek along as it isn't possible for anything to incidentally come across your view. Though even then I'd trust you to remove yourself from the game tbh so not too fussed

I've never interacted with Switchblade before this game, but by all accounts, I think he seems like a good dude. I'd certainly be willing to trust him not to give himself an unfair advantage.

I've certainly never considered hunting anyone based on what their activity is because I pretty much feel that's a dead end regardless. People PM each other for a myriad of reasons.

The forum would be setup that no one can see it. The host and mafia would be set to always see it. I would then be set to never see it which would override my admin privilege.

Honestly, I was so upset at myself for fucking up that I did say I wasn't going to play again. But several people reached out, including SB, and encouraged me to give it another go. Grim, Ekko, RDK, and most of my scum-buddies told me that I shouldn't let one screw up deter me from ever playing again.

there r lots of things forums r used for that arent in disc. disc is only gna be there for the chat. the game thread for instance happens in the forum lol

its gna be like a QT basically

i dont think discord will affect the people in the forum at all actually. ive been using discord since 2015 i am very active there daily and i still check multiple forums regularly

if we can find another service like QT it can work too. or maybe introduce search functions in PMs. idk if xenforo has that. and maybe allow to categorize the PM into channels and voice chat? thats all wishful thinking and too much for a text based forum. if we can find something like QT it wud be nice, tho i was not a strong fan of QT eitherway

we can use something like teams or skype i guess
