A huge battle royal of everyone making an Edge GFX for me, winner is chosen by the gfx I choose as my sig. MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Lmao. Tell ya' what, I'll toss an optional battle royal on the next card. You can't pick the winner, but at least, you'll have a selection to choose from. That work?

Why not? Could only be a one night only deal, doesn't count towards anything, just pride more than anything. But if that's how you want to do it, fine by me. (I'll just hate you forever)

Do you mind if we impose some kind of size limit for league entries soon? These extra huge GFX entries are getting annoying and usually unnecessary.

Haven't thought about any exact numbers or dimensions actually, but I'm thinking around 700x400, for horizontal entries at least (for reference, my Kick-Ass sig is 550x230).

I was thinking 1000 pixels total, that way people could play around with their horizontal and vertical measurement.
Okay with that?

We should have max sizes depending on the theme. For example, movie posters will have to be larger, so we should set the size limit prior to the card being posted.

I guess this is where suggestions go, so I've been looking at this league, and it reminded me of one I was in a while back and we had a theme one week that was text based. So basically the piece just had to be about the text really. It was pretty fun to do, and it made me work on my text which was really needed.

Me and a couple of buddies are entering a 48 hour film festival. We're given a line of dialogue a genre and a theme and have 48 hours to make the best we can with it. We would like a flashy logo for our production company so I thought i'd submit it to the graphics league for competition. Our competition is on the 28th.

What's needed

A square size graphic the higher the resolution the better.

Obscocious Productions

here is a logo that I made in 98 for this "company"

so any improvement from that will be great

I'll do the same thing that I'm doing with RRS' request and offer it as an optional battle royal next card. Can't guarantee any pieces, but you might get a few entries.
Tapout, thanks for the suggestion, and I'll add it to the rotation for themes.

Sorry but the 1000 pixel rule is a total bullshit. I'm not trying to go against the grain or anything but the poster size I used for my British Main Events entry was Width - 785 and Height - 995. 600 height by 400 width would be extremely hard to get a movie poster in, and I suggest you rethink that one because I really don't think a size limit is helpful or needed.

I'll remove it for this week and toss up a poll in the next few days asking for opinions before we make it an 'official' rule. That work?

Yeah. I just feel that we shouldn't be restricted on what we can do. I mean maybe some weeks have size limits because some people, including myself usually work better with them, though a lot of people like Andrew and Doink excel when they do larger pieces.
