General Chit-Chat Thread - No Spoilers

Honestly, segments themselves aren't the worst to write, though when they are for other characters, it is a challenge because I need to look back at previous promos to get their voice.

But the next couple may involve my characters a bit, so that will help a little.

And I'm pretty efficient with my writing. Like I wrote my first match for this show within a few days of getting it and I would have took more sooner if I didn't have exams and a few big final assignments coming up after.

Like after writing I had a presentation in a little over a week, with a 6 and a half hour mock trial the day after. Then I had a presentation for a class, then a 20 page paper related to my presentation due a week later, then 3 exams.

Getting a good segment writer might actually be harder than finding match writers and you seem to be faster than anyone I’ve ever seen so honestly even if you can only do one or two matches a show, if you can whip out 4 segments like you just did, that would be super helpful.

That's honestly why I say sometimes getting a handler to help write segments with their character in it can help. Even if the segment isn't perfect and edited a bit, it helps really get the handler invested in what their character is doing and even if it is a short segment, can help them get some practice in.

And to be fair, my segments aren't super long since I'm trying to get them done relatively quickly, though I hope they have the charm needed to still make them of quality.

I ask for volunteers to help almost every show and generally no one new ever steps up. It’s just the unfortunate truth. Most people only signed up because they only have to write one promo every two weeks.

I wish more people would step up. Those that did write segments, I do mostly give them their own segments.
