The Wild have a bright future. Only downside atm is that they'll have some dead cap from those contracts bought out, and especially is bad I think the next two seasons.

Oh for sure, but I think the group right now has one of the best chances of becoming Stanley Cup champions and next year we'll also get the chance to remove Rask, Dumba, and others who have high cap hits in favor of guys like Rossi and Khusnuditov.

Yeah, the key is patience really. Let your younger guys continue to improve and slowly get cap space to add guys to plug in holes.

The Leafs I think are a great team overall minus their frequency to have brainfarts and not be "clutch" enough. But one thing I dislike was their cap management. They still have some great value pieces, but how tight their cap space is creates such a hurdle to add extra depth.

And let me be clear, signing Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, even Riley, is smart. They're all great players.

But the large amount of money going towards them is an issue, even if it is mostly worth it. If we could have trimmed even a relatively small percentage from their salaries, then we'd have room for another guy or to put more towards people to support them.
