Yeah it’s ok if the face gets over in the segment every now and again.
It shouldn't just be every now and again. Faces by design should be getting over all the time. The only reason Heels should go over is if they're being set up to be major players down the line *or* if they are over with the crowd as a hateable person.

again this is where the line is tricky. You have to get babyface sympathy but not to the point where they look stupid

People say so often that Vince, Kevin Dunn, Prichard, Johnny Ace could go and WWE could be better. It wouldn't. There's no way WWE can recover, and that's literally due to the mindset of the company

And it's a company that won't go away, because it's making record profits repackaging and reselling the time it used to be good

You get Sympathy for the Face by giving them an angle in which their entire build is, "I'm gonna get back at those dirty damn bastards!"

Imagine if you will, and I bet Jeff will hate me using this example, but the entire proposed build for Brian Pillman vs. The Midnight Express. They injure Tom Zenk and now Brian Pillman has to face off against the ME alone, with Jim Cornette taunting and making fun of Pillman. They are targeting his throat and neck, but Pillman stills fucking wins by sheer force of will. *That* is how you get a face over, you pin him against the odds but he continually overcomes.
