And I must say, although the indie scene has turned way more niche and way less about workrate since the 2000s and early 2010s, it ain't all bad. There are some awesome workers still, but now I think guys are being way more creative with their characters and such.

I haven't seen too much indies, but tbh I prefer a little character over workrate anyways. As long as there isn't no workrate.

It's quite nice imo when you have these distinct characters already existing on the indies, rather than just a sea of generic looking dudes with no discernible character traits who happen to wrestle well.

I can certainly see it going either way. Maybe you'd rather have a guy who wrestles great that you can build a character for from the ground up. But I'd rather see someone show their ability to get a gimmick over and then work on their in ring skills.

WWE has their PC to train wrestlers. I think showing you have a certain it factor is more valuable. To a WWE scout, anyway.
