my parents did pretty well and have basically enough in their bank accounts to live on interest

My parents did not so that's why I'm pretty pressed to save now before they retire

my dad actually got very lucky

Their only retirement will be social security if Republicans haven't killed that by the time they can withdraw

he never put any money into retirement but his company gave him so many stocks every year and during covid their stock prices basically tripled

My parents have never had anything but a single checking account between them

so when he retired he cashed out all his stock and got an amazing payday

But he won't pay for Netflix?

he actually text me the other day asking if i still had hulu because he missed smackdown

they used to have cable with their internet and they cancelled it but still get quite a bit of channels like usa so he watches on there

no dvr or anything

My dad called me a few weeks ago bc he needed the peacock account password since I changed it to a randomly generated one since it was the same password as my old Sony one that got hacked

I texted it to him bc I was like "you should just copy and paste"

 

[Chris]

He replies back "damn" and I didn't get the notification of a new sign in until the next morning when my mom woke up to do it for him
