im more basing this off of how aew get shit on every time they add a belt and those werent world titles

that it's the worst thing they've done in a while, and the idea that AEW would receive disproportionate heat for the same thing. I've seen tons of hate for it and I only go to two places to discuss wrestling lol

I feel like lineage should matter you'd want to keep those two belts separated so separate them. Instead of a new title. What they should have done in this scenario. Is a Raw Heavyweight champ a Smackdown heavyweight champ. Give Roman the Undisputed (new belt)(he never lost still huge bragging rights or keep all three for the moment) in order to challenge for Undisputed you have to be a raw or smackdown champ. So technically the day you win you hold two belts you then can lose either belt while retaining the unchallenged belt. so you could be smackdown champ and undisputed but then lose either of those belts while retaining the other.

that sounds way too complicated for no reason

Only thing is I think it needs to be handled smartly, or could quickly become a jumbled mess. And the Smackdown and Raw Championships in themselves would not have that much prestige imo if they're gateways to challenge for the Universal Championship.

onm the second u prob right, its a perception issue on my end most likely. i wouldnt say its the worst thing theyve done either, but i would say its one of the dumbest in recent memory, especially combined with the fact Cody didnt go over. now if we were talking like 2 years ago this wouldnt even have made my radar so in the sense of ''worst'' sure its probably low on the list
