for me I think that inventing original characters of non white origin is better. Taking characters that have been white for 60 years and making them black doesn’t accomplish anything.

I was going to ask... "it doesn't accomplish anything" what exactly is anyone trying to accomplish by changing charcters... a variety of things. It could make the story more realistic in a modern setting, a character from 60-80 years ago were all white males so updating the character actually could make the story better and more nuanced

Iron Fist proabaly should have been an Asian character... It fits in better with his story. A rich white kid that randomly crashed in a mythic city and becomes the chosen one is really just finding a way to shoe horn a white character into a story rather than make a believavble charcter

it doesn't work or translate to every character but just just because a change is made doesn't mean its done for any social change....sometimes it just makes it a better story
