I've met a few WWII veterans. They're some of the toughest people

not a surprise, the hell they went through

My great grandfather was a veteran of it, he died when I was 7 or 8, I still remember him fairly well tho he was a cool dude

I think the last living Victoria Cross Recipient is 102 or something

My grandfather served on the HMS Hood but was transferred off before it got sunked

My grandpa was a WWII vet. Died 7 years ago at 89. Best guy I ever knew.

My father was a Vietnam Vet, My Uncle was Korea, my grandfather and great Uncles were WWII. My sister was first Gulf War, and myself Afghanistan.

My grandmother was in the Korean War.

She was in the US Navy at the time.

I believe a different great grandfather was also a veteran but he died long before I was born and I'm not sure what the war would have been

One of my childhood friends Grandfather was stationed on one of the ships at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. Hearing a first hand account of it was crazy.

I have a bunch of people in my family from the military, mostly ones who served in Vietnam.

My Uncle spent a year in Vietnam as a MP in the Army as well. He had some crazy stories.
