I bought both Red Dead 1 and 2 because I wanted to go back and replay RDR1 and finally beat it before I start up 2 and just haven't had the motivation to do it.
It's probably my only stress relief in my day-to-day life, so even though I've experienced burnout I always come back to it. For some people, they get stressed at it. I try to avoid that.
I have a strategy of overlevelling myself in Bloodborne and Dark Souls Remastered and it worked out pretty well. I didn't get stuck much and it let me figure out the enemies better. I'll probably do that again, as I like feeling OP.
I think you've got to enjoy the repetitive nature of the games and that satisfying feeling you get from beating the bosses. When I beat my first boss in Bloodborne I experienced a high unlike anything I've felt in gaming
