The movie Bernie with Jack Black was based on a murder that happened in my town and was partially filmed here too I'm pretty sure

My freshmen year Spanish teacher had a speaking role

The filming was literally right next to my house so that's cool. The only thing though is that the film set was burnt a few weeks prior by an arsonist. Nothing bad happened though
