But yeah, Grim. I worked at IHOP not that long ago and the manager at first was a headache. Micromanaged a lot, but also somehow managed to never be on top of shit.
I have had shitty fast food jobs, when managers I didn't respect got on my nerves I just wouldn't show up for Friday or Saturday shifts. I'm not gonna work my ass for someone who doesn't respect me
But then, he up and left one day and the assistant manager took his place and he was great. He basically knew who brought what to the table and if you did your job well, he'd trust you and let you do your thing.
And he'd help in the kitchen if we were slammed. And he'd let us cook whatever we wanted for ourselves, even though we were supposed to pay for shit. Which is always bullshit imo anyways.
