IMO it's bc Rey went against the tradition and he was too big for them to do anything bout it, but now they're pretty lenient when old guys ask to use the mask for special matches but not a permanent remasking

I miss having a good indie company close by to go too.

I only ever had two that i was a regular of.

Dropkick Pro Wrestling (this is where I saw Austin Creed for the first time). Fun shows. Monthly. Was like a little over a mile from where I lived at the time. Jason Cross wrestled there if any of you remember him. There was this one heel team called The In Crowd. I was a fan of theirs lol. They would acknowledge me every show. Actually posed for photos during their entrance. this was during the MySpace days, and I had a lot of the wrestlers added. The wrestlers would actually use my photos. Good times.

But the biggest of the two was Rampage Pro Wrestling. They actually got names and stars there(it's how I seen a ROH World Title match). Those were weekly, we went basically every week. That was so fun. AEW Ref Mike Posey worked there. He was in a faction with Jimmy Rave, RIP. FTR Bald had a few matches there when he was still clawing his way up. I met Daffney(RIP) at a show. That big tall woman who was going to be on the women nxt season, but got replaced by Kaitlyn worked there a few times lmao. Adam Pearce, Colt Cabana. I'm still mad I missed the show Danielson was at right after Tie Gate.
