I know they recently released 1 and 2 on steam to be able to be played on modern computers but there were a lot of crashes and glitches.

It's Sims 1, exactly as it used to be, so yeah, it's always worth a purchase, plus it has the stuff that was never available outside of online downloads, like the Command & Conquer bonus skins

Yes, they patched it to be able to change screen resolution as well as make it windowed

also, i read the new GPUs like the 5080/90/etc don't have like Psy3d or whatever that's been used so a lot of older games don't run well on them.

makes me iffy to upgrade.
