One thing I wish they could do a bit better to make it more of a sim, probs should make this a separate mode actually to keep the old way for a balanced game, but I wish they could have a better sim of human migration. 9 times out of 10 once you discover the other side of the world, there's a pretty large power there that has dominated the continent while you've most likely dominated yourself. In real life, the America's were mostly less developed bc humans migrated there so much later.

They still developed plenty of things first independently on their own, but they didn't build up the population numbers like Europe and Asia for massive civilizations

So like maybe have it generate civs farther from you later in the game not all at the beginning idk lol

yeah i feel like they need to nail that in the exploration age in 7

Actually now that I think about it I don't even think that would be accurate bc "civilizations" didn't really start until we had well been dispersed everywhere

you get all these bonuses in some trees for settling outside your continent, but by the time you can reliably get there, outside a few specialized civs, its already massively populated and u cant settle

But yeah the exploration is always gonna be weird if you're discovering civs that very well might be better than you already lol I guess theoretically they may have discovered you first and that just means you're the equivalent of the indigenous cultures not the Europeans lol

you can also get lucky and start near a border, happens kind of often for me and feels like cheesing it when I get these bonuses lol

Civ 6 has wonky continent barriers sometimes too in general lol

Also one thing i really wish for is a proper spectator mode lol even the mods on PC sucked for it. I want to go turn by turn or let the CPU just run games in the background to see how the world develops without playing

ifk if you mean watching everyones full turns but it takes a lot of computing power. u can see it when u run the benchmark on pc it gets crazy lol
