Yeah the trailer does spoil it. 4 if I remember is a prequel of 3. It goes back to show how Dom met Han and the others and moves it ahead. I don't remember which one ties back to Tokyo drift though, because it does. Also Mamoa character related to a guy in 5 which is the Brazil one so they have brought them all full circle.

I stopped watching after 7 and Tokyo Drift wasn't tied back in yet but it was established it hadn't happened yet so it was already better in hindsight
