Not having them is more of a utopia theory to me, it sounds nice but with how much politicians manipulate the government you have to artificially have turnover to keep corruption from becoming worse

And also factor in how lazy humans are and how much they naturally hate change. Incumbents would have to be disastrous to get voted out, that's why so many mediocre presidents got two terms to start with
