My grandma worked at Walmart for years, she did stocking and inventory stuff and took the night shift even tho she was old bc she was weird. Her logic was she was used to working nights bc she did it forever when she was younger and that young people might need the day shifts more so altruistic I guess lol

They actually kept her on payroll for like a year after she had a stroke even though she told them she wasn't coming back bc their healthcare benefits were slightly better than her base Medicaid

if something expired the next day we gave it a CVP(customer value promo) that marked it down a certain percent so it sold.

one of the first things I did when I got there at 7am was mark that shit down and old people would sit there and wait like it was a spectacle and see what i marked down.

like i was some higher power that picked what i wanted to mark down. I told them its anything thats gonna expire tomorrow so if you want something and it expires tomorrow bring it to me and i'll mark it down instead of waiting around.

I used to not order meat from Walmart but tbh all the recall scandals are always with the "higher quality" stuff so now I say fuck it, it seems fine to me

I don't think we ever did that but we did have price changes a lot and I probably just never paid attention enough.
