I think if you're not an elite in ring worker or generational on the mic, you're not sniffing the world title in this company. Tony has booked big guys good before in short stretches but a combination of inconsistent booking AND inconsistent performances and injures have generally put a stop to it. If they had someone like Gunther he'd have been pushed to the moon. AEW has never had a top tier big guy, as far as my perception is concerned. Wardlow is a midcarder with no mic skills and lacks charisma. Hobbs is still green and got hurt a few times (but I think has the biggest chance because AEW actually like him and its obvious). Lance is old. Keith has massive health issue. Big Bill had a lot to prove (and I think he will be rewarded as well now).
