I think if you're not an elite in ring worker or generational on the mic, you're not sniffing the world title in this company. Tony has booked big guys good before in short stretches but a combination of inconsistent booking AND inconsistent performances and injures have generally put a stop to it. If they had someone like Gunther he'd have been pushed to the moon. AEW has never had a top tier big guy, as far as my perception is concerned. Wardlow is a midcarder with no mic skills and lacks charisma. Hobbs is still green and got hurt a few times (but I think has the biggest chance because AEW actually like him and its obvious). Lance is old. Keith has massive health issue. Big Bill had a lot to prove (and I think he will be rewarded as well now).

i will add a hot take - most companies have moved on from big guys as the top draw, including WWE. Roman is not huge compared to the last gen at all.

We all know Vince had Adam Cole Bay Bay penciled as Max Dupri's manager. Look at L.A Knight now.

Don't tell me MJF Adam Cole wasn't the best thing about AEW at the time. Each segment or match was fcking great and the tees sold like hot cakes at OAP Bingo. They had it down. Cole misjudged the jump and landed hard in a disheveled way which he misjudged and snapped his foot. I've done it jumping over my mum's fence years ago and I swear it looked closer than it was and the pain went from 0 to 10 quick. Cole must be the most unluckiest wrestler in his tenure with AEW.

I just want him back as Babyface get rid of undisputed pile of shite. Cole is one of the few that can be suited to both roles.
