Quite a few people I know are right into it, whilst others have no interest whatsoever. What's your stand on it?

I am an occasional gambler. I play poker sometimes, which only costs me $10 and I have a chance at taking home $300-$400 if I manage to win. The other night I went to the casino with a friend and won $50 (my friend blew his money and desperately wanted to leave while I was kinda running hot) on Roulette which sorta sparked my interest in going back. Two nights ago my friend called me and asked me to go with him to the casino again, I went in with the intention of only putting in $100 max. I ended up blowing nearly $300 the most I have ever lost and I still feel like absolute shit about it. My luck was horrible, and it has really put me off gambling. A wise man once told me that we work hard for our money, why blow it.

Anyway, what's your stance? What do you play? I'm kind of a blackjack/poker man though roulette was kinda fun the night I won 50.

Actually writing this thread has reminded me of how much an idiot I am and is making me mad :ARN:

I've done it a few times. I don't think it's anything special really. It's nice to win money, but I've never been a fan of the atmosphere.

You seem like quite the hermit from your posts, RRS but that it's okay.

I usually only gamble with friends. Sometimes it's just a little wager over a sports game, sometimes it's all night Poker games. So, most of the time I don't lose much money and that's a good thing for me as my Dad has a heavy gambling problem and has lost over a +$1,000 numerous times. That's kind of why I stay away from big time Casinos so I don't get hooked myself. Every now and then a little Blackjack at a dive bar can be fun, though.

I actually don't go out much anymore... Simply because of where I live and shit.

Anyway, when I went to casinos and stuff I just didn't like it. Mind you I came out one time with 1200 bucks in my pocket, but I just didn't like the atmosphere. Now if I'm playing cards or some shit with friends, it doesn't really bother me. I've seen people become addicted to gambling though. It becomes their life, I don't really want that.

I usually just put a couple of pound on accumulators for MMA/WWE/Football. That's my limit and i'm perfectly fine with it.

It's fun to do every once and a while, but not if you're seriously expecting to win. I used to go to Shreveport, Louisiana every Saturday after Thanksgiving. It's fun to get drunk in the casinos and order free drinks all night. Just have to be careful about how much you spend because you can run out of money really fucking quick if you're not careful.

Blackjack, slots, and video poker is usually all I do. I'm not serious enough for real poker.

For one night every other month me & the wife head to Niagara Falls with nothing more than the $200 we set aside. I typically play slots, as I cant be bothered trying to remember poker hands I knew back in high school.

The most we ever came back with was just over $900, which we then used to make a weekend out of our next trip. Other than that, there have been a few times we doubled our money, once it came in handy as Christmas was coming up.

I was warned not to take in a large amount of cash but a job I had done a week prior paid me in cash, and I couldn't help myself.

My luck was absolute filth. I put 60 down on Blackjack and got 12 and the dealer got an Ace, so I hit and busted. I then played Poker and had Ace King and lost to a pair of 10's.

I enjoy it and I see no problem with it. I have about four online betting accounts with different Australian bookmakers to get the best odds. Can go through periods where I bet every couple of days to a period where I don't bet for a couple of months. I see it as good fun and I just make sure that I don't bet more than I can afford to lose.

I like casinos as well but very rarely go into them. I see them as a form of entertainment and so I don't mind going in and losing money because when I walk in I don't expect to win. Got lucky when I was in Macau for a holiday, had a great night playing Blackjack in City of Dreams and managed to win enough to pay for my flights and accomodation. I really only play Blackjack in casinos but every time I am in a casino I do always put a one off small bet on the number 32 in Roulette in honour of my dad.

Betting does it for me. Tennis/Football/Basketball usually bring me some honey but I have never lost much money.

Was it a multi?

I am glad that this season I have stayed away from betting on North Melbourne in the AFL, would have cost me a fair bit this year if I had.

Trifecta. They pay very well and you can put $5 on it and win nearly $300 depending on the horses/greyhounds that come in.

I've got a few multi's on this weekend, Brisbane Lions cost me one last night. Tonight I have Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle and United on tuesday. A pretty tough one but I got 10 on it so it'll pay around $130.

Nicely done. Had a bit of luck on the greyhounds a few years back with a couple first fours but haven't really touched it lately.

I need to get some multis going in AFL starting next week, wanted to see how the first couple of rounds went first and it has been a weird start to the season.

Lost something like $400 the first night I ever went to a casino. Never gambled again. I'd rather use my money in what I think are more productive ways.
