Final Battle 2008 is less than a month away now. ROH has been hyping it for a long time now, and seem to make it the biggest show of the year. Most of the card still is up in the air, which is surprising.

with it being in the Hammerstein, they have to put on an amazing show to please everyone. It's a pretty big weekend outside of ROH too, because there's a UFC Show the same day, and WWE will be in the Garden the day after.

The card is so far...

Fight Without Honor
Bryan Danielson vs. Takeshi Morishima

-Steel Cage Warfare

Also signed to for this weekend:
-GHC Heavyweight Champion Kensuke Sasaki
-AJPW World Jr. Champion Naomichi Marufuji
-Katsuhiko Nakajima

Though it hasn't been announced yet, I assume that Marufuji will be challenging Nigel at Final Battle.

Yeah, i think marifuji is the favorite to challenge, although they may shock us and book Brent Albright vs Nigel. They might even have a 4 way, winner challenges for the belt. (cough low ki cough)

Realistically, probably Marifuji.

Nah he's had a couple other matches. Off the top of my head Vs Necro and Team Noah vs NRC.

It should be a great match, it's kinda reminding me of Final Battle 2005 with the double main event with NOAH guys. I think there's a couple more big matches that they're going to announce, probably a Four Way with Lynn, Claudio, Hero and Omega.

Should be a great match, however there is no build to this match.

Is it me, or does pearce book just about anything the fans suggest?

I guess Pearce just wants to make sure the fans get what they want and don't hate him just after he begins booking.

the card is now...

ROH World Title Match
Nigel McGuinness defends vs. Naomichi Marufuji

Fight Without Honor
Bryan Danielson vs. Takeshi Morishima

Dream Tag Team Match
Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. GHC Heavyweight Champion Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima

Come Dressed As You Are- New York City Street Fight
Brent Albright, Roderick Strong, & Erick Stevens vs. Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, & Go Shiozaki with Larry Sweeney

Four Corner Survival
Chris Hero vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Rhett Titus vs. ???

Special Challenge Match
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kenny Omega

It still looks like a great show all around. Omega could get a huge upset. The NYC Street Fight should be brutal, but it might be a waste of Strong and Go with them just being in what could be just a brawl.

What happened to the steel cage warfare? Now a street fight. Good card none the less.

I kinda wish ROH would put a little more effort into some of the smaller city shows for ROH. Im ok with giving New York the best shows, but they generally get 4 quality main event matches, while someplace like a Dayton, Det, Virignia, Hartford and some of the others are lucky to get 1-2 big matches.

It will be interesting to see Omega at Hammerstein, I dont believe he's wrestled there yet. (I could be wrong)

I've noticed that the Friday/Small Shows are getting worse too. I guess with the new direction ROH is taking, it's more like all of the shows are building up bigger shows instead of them letting them stand on their own.

Omega hasn't wrestled at the Hammerstein yet. It could be a pretty big match for his future career, to see if the fans accept him in NYC or not.

for the Four Way, it might be Aries as the mystery guy. They might announce Jacobs & Black vs Steen & Generico, so the four way seems like the only thing left for Aries unless there's another match signed.

This place is going to be PACKED in terms of attendance. They sold out the floor completely, including all General Admission tickets.

The only tickets they have available are 8th row for the 1st balcony, and 6th row for the 2nd.
