-We'll probably have the cure for cancer and aids by then, surely.
-We'll either already be cloning humans or right on the cusp of it. We probably won't be able to create our own species yet by that point, but who knows.
-Scientists said in fifty years we'll be having sex with robots and they said that a decade ago, so...
-I wonder how far we would have come to creating our own virtual reality? I'm talking like a real-life video game that you can participate in personally. And if you "die", then you go back to the "real world" and start over or something. I know it sounds pretty fantastical and too science-fictiony for some, but so did many things already accomplished by science. Wouldn't bet on this happening in the next 50-75 years, though.
-How far will we have come with our research into genetics? There's the dream of one day getting to the point where we can tamper with genetics and be able to remove/implant genes and basically create a race of "super humans." We know, for example, that intelligence/artistic ability/athletic ability/etc. are all largely innate within our genes. Imagine if every human was as smart as Einstein. Imagine if every musician was as talented as a John Lennon or Elvis. Imagine if every athlete was as much as a physical as specimen as some of the greatest sports athletes that have ever lived (I'm lost for names/examples on that one, I don't watch sports at all.) What kind of world would that be like?
-Scientists back in the 60's (and maybe before that) first began work on reversing the aging process by making the cells on your skin forget what they're doing, therefore allowing you to maintain your youth, or at least whatever your present age was/is. Interesting to think what kind of progress would have been made on that half a century or more from now. Who knows what the anti-aging industry itself will have come up with by then. Perhaps something that really does make you genuinely look younger as opposed to just looking like you've got botox going on all over your face.
