It could be a usual celebration or it could be a one off. What are your favourite sports celebrations?

One of my favourites is Johnny Manziels' hand sign as it relates to The Almighty Regime that is TOPSZN.

The best sports celebration of all time is Barry Sanders just walking over to the ref and handing him the ball after scoring. You don't have to celebrate when you do your fucking job, be humble instead of an arrogant ass. Think about it for a second. If everyone celebrated doing their job we'd be seeing mailmen doing backflips and cashiers creating dances for when they ring through groceries.

I can tell you're not a big fan of football (soccer).

Celebrations are one of the best parts of sports. It's not being arrogant, it's just showing that you're happy with what you have accomplished.

I think you're missing my point that these guys are getting paid exorbitant amounts of money to do their jobs. They don't have to celebrate and it's certainly not what I look forward to when watching a game. Also, if you think it's not being arrogant, look up some of Terrell Owens celebrations.

That's one American Football player.

I understand you don't have the away games culture that we have in the UK so I suppose the celebrations away from home will appear arrogant as they have no fans to celebrate with and are just celebrating in front of opposition fans.

In the UK, celebrations are usually involved with celebrating with the people that pay money to see you. I can't understand how that can be crticised.

Still an example all the same though, and he's far from the only one. Hell, there's even fines for excessive celebration in the NFL and you aren't even allowed to do it at all in the NCAA, so I'm not even sure how Manziel was getting away with that save for the fact that a lot of people are on his dick. I've seen many NCAA games where players are ejected just for waving at the fans after scoring.

I pay money to see my team win, not do some stupid dipsy doodle dance whenever they score a run. I'll cheer when the ball gets hit over the fence or the puck goes into the back of the net or the WR catches a touchdown. I won't cheer when they act like idiots and do choreographed dancing afterwards.

Again, think about it this way. My clients pay me to do a job for them. When I make a solid trade and earn them a lot of money, should I have some sort of "move" that I can do when they come in for a meeting? No, because they don't want to see that. They want a return on their investment, simple as that.

I'm not talking about choreographed dances, i'm talking about pumping the air in celebration or kissing the teams badge.

So fist pumping the air is a celebration but dancing isn't? How about the soccer team that turned themselves into a big bicycle? That's not considered a celebration?

Thierry Henry's free kick celebration against Wigan. Took one quick, went in, ref disallowed it for being too fast.

So he gets the ball back, waits for a bit, then bangs it in again before turning to the ref and asking "is that enough?"

I never said dancing isn't a celebration, I'm just saying the ones that I like are where players show how delighted they are with scoring.

Well this thread got killed pretty quick. *gets the defibrillator*

Ravanelli's is definitely up there. There was a good six month period in junior school where everyone was running around with shirts other their heads.

Sliding on your knee's was a big celebration at my school, when we were on the field of course. Teachers weren't happy when lots of kids came into lesson with muddy knees.
