SCORING QUESTION:

Kenny Omega lost the IWGP US Championship on a scoring show. It is NOT an AEW sanctioned championship. Does the match merit Championship bonus? I regret not bringing this up until after the fact and will not make a decision until I get input from the players.

What has been done in the past for the FTW championship? Cause I don't think that is a sanctioned belt for AEW, technically.

Nothing in the rules say championships have to be native to the promotion afail. A title match is a title match imo

More data : that title has been defended om television in aew over multiple years by kenny, mox n archer iirc. That belt is def canon in aew lore

is a New Japan belt. So I guess the precedence is - if one counts, do they all count.

True, but we're talking in the rules of this league. I'm not sure on this, but for some reason I think there have been ROH titles defended on AEW shows and we didn't count them. I could be wrong on that point, but to me that's what should be the case.

Unfortunately none of the championships have changed hands during the season on a scoring show (Supercard of Honor was not scoring in Season 1). Neither has the IWGP US Championship (WrestleKingdom not a scoring show). I did a search in the thread for anything that I could htink about regarding non-brand Championships in the discussion thread and was unable to locate anything.

I worry scoring this would set precedent that AEW has 90843753094875 Championships since they have a renegade title like FTW, and have AAA titles occasionally show up. It could make AEW wrestlers Overpowered.

Hell I didn't even realize Kenny was the IWGP US Champ until the match was announced.

I'm on my way to work so no decision will be made until tonight. I'm leaning towards no.

OK so here's my ruling, and the owner of Kenny Omega isn't gonna like it. Good thing that's me.

Both WWE.com superstars tab (https://www.wwe.com/superstars) and AllEliteWrestling.com Roster tab (https://www.allelitewrestling.com/aew-roster) BOTH have their champions listed at the top. If the Championship is NOT listed it will NOT score Championship points.

This will be in effect for future seasons as well.

Announcement regarding Money In The Bank:

The Money in The Bank match will follow the same rules as other Championships (as previously announced here AND just now posted in the Rules thread). If it is listed in the Champions subsection of the WWE.com Superstars page, the winners WILL receive Championship Bonus Points. If it is NOT listed no bonus points will be awarded.

If there are Championship bonus points for winning the Briefcase, there will be NO championship loss points if the Briefcase holder is unsuccessful in their cash-in.
