I have a scoring conundrum I need to get the opinion of the masses. (WARNING, NXT Spoilers below)

Last night Noam Dar was unable to compete and designated Oro Mensah to defend his NXT Heritage Cup. Mensah was defeated and a new champion was crowned. Do we credit Noam Dar with Championship Loss points? As of now the new champion got 14 points for winning (that was easy) and Oro Mensah got 4 points for losing since he wrestled and lost, but was not the Champion and thus did not lose the Championship.

This is something that the rules of the game do not specify clearly hence why I want to ask. This will also refer to when a Champion has to vacate a championship or is stripped of a championship. If they surrender the Championship do they score championship loss points?

Hmm I think a good compromise would be giving the champion 6 points if they lose their title in anyway without wrestling a match

So like the 4 points is for losing the match and 6 points for losing the title which would be the 10 they normally get for regular title losses.

Can be a bit convoluted since for title vacatings there's no match on record so I'd also be fine with you just saying tough luck and score it like you did with only Mensah getting the loss points with no champions bonus and doing nothing if anyone is stripped without a match

I think if they vacate it, no points for that, but I also ain’t sure if someone who didn’t even do the match should get points because someone else defended for him. so idk if Noam deserves anything for being on the sideline

If it was asking if Oro should, I probably be more in favor of it. Despite not being champ, he was defending it for Noam, and I’m sure Noam would’ve stayed champion if Oro won, and not winning it for himself.

I don't think defending a title for someone without being recognized as champion yourself should net you any extra points. That's the one thing I'm set on here lol as far as if the actual champion should get anything for a loss they weren't apart of I'm more open to whatever the consensus is tho

But Mensah should def just get 4 for his loss last night

Dar is either injured or faking one so said Oro had to defend in the scheduled match instead of himself

Legit or storyline injuries are gonna be the main reason this would come up. Like how Sami defended for an Uso a few months ago (they won tho so no scoring controversies)

The reason I'd be fine with giving champions partial points if they just straight up vacate the title for any reason is bc when you have a champion on your roster you know you're safe to get extra points even if they lose the title, a champions advantage if you will. I agree it's weird when there's no actual match tho

I can kind of understand that, and knowing my luck we end up not doing it, and then one of my champs has to vacate and those points would’ve been useful to me lmao. I mean I’m still not fully sure what I think of the idea, but if majority of the people want it then so be it.

Thats also how i feel tbf, I won't push for it too hard either way

The easiest thing would just say no points if they vacate or someone defends and loses for them and I'm also more than fine with that as it keeps things simple
