I think it's amazing how many of you assume it's roids. Upon first reading I thought it was pot. and for him to say Air Boom will not be derailed after this is silly what this means for the tag titles could be interesting for the tag division.

Roids are good for muscle recovery not just growth and Bourne suffered a nasty bump the other week so maybe he did them to recover for this. IIRC WWE does not suspend wrestlers for real Marijuana smoking but fines them instead, though I heard what they've been smoking is fake pot.

WWE announced Tuesday they have suspended performer Evan Bourne for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s Talent Wellness Program.

WWE issued a press release stating: “In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Matthew Korklan (Evan Bourne) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s policy.”

Bourne’s suspension was not unexpected since he was summoned to a meeting with WWE officials at Monday’s Raw SuperShow in Atlanta, Georgia regarding a recent violation of their Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy (a component of the Talent Wellness Program), which according to corporate.wwe.com, “prohibits the use of drugs by talent for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician.”

WWE employees were surprised he and Kofi Kingston didn’t lose the Tag Team Championship on Raw. The duo is now expected to drop the titles at tonight’s SmackDown in Greenville, North Carolina since his suspension has been publicly announced.

Many WWE performers believe the recent rash of suspensions is tied to Talent Wellness Program administers cracking down on usage of synthetic cannabis, which was added to the banned substances list in June. Sold under the brand names K2 and Spice, the substance was banned for at least a year effective March 1, 2011 by the Drug Enforcement Administration so they could study its effects more thoroughly and decide whether a permanent ban is necessary.

Bourne is the third WWE performer to be suspended in the past month, following Darren Young and Heath Slater.
Find it too funny that it is always the high flyers who are the ones who smoke weed.

I hear sources that Air Boom will appear on SD and drop the titles then Bourne will be suspended from there on.

This makes a lot more sense when you consider the recreational stuff like cannabis. No doubt Darren Young was on the juice, though. That boy don't look right.

Sucks for him but sources tend to think it's Medical Marijuana use that got him, Young, and Slater busted. They can easily keep the tag belts on Air Boom it's 30 days.

Not sure they could. 1. You have years of WWE telling viewers if a belt isn't defended in x number of days they are vacated. While this is a kayfabe rule there could be backlash for only using it when convenient. 2. Your then not only not punishing born with his suspension but really just giving him a small vacation because he knows when he gets back he's gonna have the belts. 3. Your taking the belts off air for 30 days when your supposedly rebuilding the division.

I think the WWE tied their own hands by already announcing his suspension. They should've held off in announcing it, plan for Kingston & Bourne to drop the titles on Smackdown, then announce the suspension after Smackdown. If Bourne's not at Smackdown then that means they won't be dropping the titles, but if they have them drop them the following Raw, then that just confuses everybody. He was suspended, then a week later wrestles a match? Silly.

They also can't hold onto the titles for Bourne's entire suspension. As the champions, you need to be used frequently to help build the division, so having Air Boom hold the titles and not even appear as a team for an entire month would just devalue them to no end and not help the division at all. The tag division is bad enough with no feuds, this would make it worse.

Sometimes I think the WWE are too quick in pulling the trigger on decisions like this.

This is exactly what I thought. Why does everyone assume it is steroids? WWE suspends for recreational drugs as well and I think that it is probably more likely he was on that than steroids. The speculation is that he was on the fake pot like Heath Slater was and that is why they were suspended. It is so weak that these wrestlers keep turning to drugs, if they can't handle it they should get out of the business. Like Punk says sleep a lot as that aids recovery.

He is an idiot for doing it, you simply can't get away with it anymore in WWE, and hopefully this will be the first and only time. He better not have destroyed the best tag team champions in a long time.

Damn Evan! I hate to hear him being suspended, because I happen to like the guy. Hopefully this will just past and he can stay in the picture.

Well unless they are gonna get stripped of the belts some kind of way it looks like they are just gonna keep the belts on them and I guess just say Bourne got hurt and pick up where they left off which I'll be glad for. Think they should just let them ride out their reign for a while as I think their doing a great job.

I am glad they didn't do a rush job and do a quick title change before he was suspended. Let them keep the titles for the month and pretend that Bourne is injured. Have a different face each week team with Kofi in non-title matches and then when Bourne returns they can defend the titles at TLC PPV. I feel bad for Kofi because he may miss a big Survivor Series payoff because of this, hopefully Kofi still makes it on the card. It is an extra punishment for Bourne that he won't get a huge payday from SS, with The Rock there the money it brings in will be much higher than normal which will lead to bigger paychecks for each wrestler on the night.
